Biography

Superscar is a powerpop quartet from Helsinki, Finland. The band was founded in 2000 by singer Otto and drummer Petteri and after nearly a decade of exploring a handful of styles and touring in both Finland and the rest of Europe, the band (consisting also of guitarist Daniel and bassplayer Petri) is quickly making its way into the mainstream.

Superscar is catchy and furious pop with elements of rock and electro and while the songwriting is deeply rooted in tried and- true acts as Def Leppard, Bryan Adams and U2, it is not impossible to spot influences of such modern day trendsetters as Donkeyboy, Metrostation and Muse.

In 2011, Superscar signed a recording contract with Jiffel Entertainment (EMI) and is now working with producer Jonas Olsson (Deep Insight, Automatic Eye) on their debut album. NRJ-Finland was the first radio to start playing the bands single "Modern Word For Love" which hits the stores June 10th.
